FAQ

I forgot the sheet protection password. What now?

Sheet and workbook protection are switches stored in the file; the password is just a hash and does not encrypt anything. Removing the switches makes every cell editable again with values, formulas and formatting unchanged.

Can it crack an open password?

No. An open password is real encryption and is not cracked; encrypted files are reported as such.

What else is removed?

Allow-edit ranges, the read-only recommendation and mark-as-final. Only process files you are allowed to edit.
