How do I merge several Excel files into one?
Select all the files, drop them here and press Merge. By default every sheet of every file is stacked into one table, with two columns on the left naming the source file and sheet.
The files have their columns in a different order. Does that work?
Yes. Columns are matched by header text, not position: Department, Amount in one file and Amount, Department in another end up in the same columns. A column only some files have gets its own column, blank for the rest.
There is a title row above the header.
Each sheet's header is the fullest row among its first 10, so title rows above it don't end up in the data.
Can each sheet keep its original look?
Tick Keep each sheet as its own tab: every sheet becomes a tab named after its file, with formatting, column widths, merged cells and frozen panes copied.
Are formulas and images merged too?
Formulas become their last calculated value, because their references would point at the wrong cells in a new file. Images, charts, data validation and conditional formatting are not copied. Formulas never calculated in Excel have no value and come out blank.
How many files can I merge?
Up to 100 at once, 30 MB in total. Files that can't be read (encrypted, damaged) are skipped and listed in the report.
Can I do this without VBA or Power Query?
Yes. Power Query's From Folder can combine files too, but it takes more steps and some familiarity with the query editor; here you just drop the files in.
